Excellence demands mastery. The RUBI Advanced Certification Program is an intensive program that prepares you to deliver RUBI with the highest fidelity and enables you to mentor others in your practice.
The RUBI Advanced Certification Program elevates practitioners’ skills in the implementation of RUBI, as well as builds confidence in effectively supporting the unique needs of autistic youth and their families.
Emphasis in training is placed on high fidelity delivery of RUBI, while also embracing the intervention’s family-centered approach to care. In practice, this means providers who engage in the Advanced Certification Program learn how to navigate the “flexibility within fidelity” approach to RUBI implementation – meeting families where they are at while engaging in high-quality, high-fidelity RUBI implementation.
Upon completion of the RUBI Advanced Certification Program , the expectation is that a RUBI Certified Practitioner is ready to deliver RUBI clinically to a diverse range of families with high fidelity and serve as a coach for RUBI practitioners their practice.
Learners will engage with a RUBI Certified Instructor in 20 synchronous small group consultation sessions and complete an asynchronous fidelity review of the implementation of all 11 Core RUBI sessions, receiving ongoing, tailored support and problem-solving around RUBI implementation with families.
Week 1 – Getting Started & Self Assessment
Weeks 2-21 – weekly live advanced consultation sessions with a RUBI Certified Instructor
Weeks 22-27 – Completing remaining fidelity assignments
RUBI is a short-term, low intensity, manualized parent-mediated program that guides practitioners in the teaching of tailored ABA-based behavioral strategies to families of children with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities and co-occurring challenging behaviors. RUBI empowers parents to become an agent of change as they learn approaches that equip to better scaffold and respond to their child’s behaviors.
Who should take this program?
The RUBI Advanced Certification Program is designed for practitioners who have completed the RUBI Program and are interested in moving on to advanced application and fidelity.
Learners who successfully complete the Advanced Certification Program will receive the designation of “RUBI Certified Practitioner” and be listed on the RUBI Network website.
Prerequisites
- A master’s degree or higher in a related field (preferred)
- Learner must have their own copy of the RUBI Manual and Parent Workbook (available for purchase through Oxford)
- Learners must hold a valid professional license/certification and/or be properly credentialed to practice and provide RUBI. All activities of the Advanced Certification Program must fall within the defined scope of their practice based on their license/certification. The learner must hold all responsibility for clinical care provided.
- Learner must have authorization from 1-2 clients/families to implement RUBI with and record sessions to submit for fidelity checks.
- Previous successful completion of the RUBI Program.

- Children 3-12
- Youth 12-14
Treatment Format
11-13 weeks of parent coaching with weekly coaching sessions.
What's Included?
- Fidelity Check: Reviews of practitioner implementation of the 11 Core RUBI sessions.
- Learners must meet the 80% fidelity benchmark for all 11 Core RUBI Sessions. If a learner fails more than two fidelity reviews (fidelity rating under 80%), reviews 13 onward incur a charge for each additional review.
- Once successfully completed, learners will receive the title “RUBI Certified Practitioner.” This Advanced Certification Program enables learners to be-come RUBI Certified Practitioners, able to implement RUBI to fidelity.
Office Hours
We provide Office Hour sessions for learners who have completed a certificate program. These 1:1 consultations let you discuss topics from your completed program with designated instructors.
